The Challenge
This homeowner had been dealing with water and moisture problems in their crawl space for over 30 years. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the problem—including installing a sump pump in the center of the crawl space, adding exterior drainage, and installing downspouts—as you can see they still experienced excessive water problems. ter intrusion.
Our Solution
While we wish we had been called in sooner to save them a lot of money and headaches, we’re glad we could finally step in and make it right!
Here’s what we did:
- Removed the pre-installed sump pump and basin
- Cleared out the old vapor barrier and all debris
- Installed a new sump pump and basin at the lowest point of the crawl space to begin pumping out water
- Installed 160 feet of drainage along the entire perimeter of the crawl space
- Laid down a brand-new vapor barrier

Deep and wide trenches not only last a lifetime, they take enormous amounts of water to the sump pump!
